Although some of the principles of the preliminary, primary and secondary treatment of wastewater across the beverage industry will often involve generic similar process operations, the detailed design and method of operation of each stage of the process technology incorporated into the overall design is critical.
The most suitable processes for wastewater treatment for malting plants mostly depends on where the wastewater is being discharged to or whether or not the wastewater is being recycled. Recycling of wastewater from malting plants is a relatively simple process and quite common worldwide.
In cases where wastewater can be discharged to the sewer system as trade waste, basic screening and pH control may be adequate with possibly an additional form of clarification. In cases where, wastewater will be irrigated or discharged to water courses, a form of biological process will be necessary. An aerobic systems will nearly always be required in such cases to achieve discharge requirements.
With stricter legislation requiring tighter limits on organic content and nutrients, the MBR process can often offer a cost effective solution with a small footprint and allows the possibility of reuse with final polishing and disinfection stages.

Hydroflux, represented by a special purpose vehicle dedicated to the project, supplies the design, construction, financing, and operation of the water or wastewater plant. The plant is transferred to the client at the end of the contract, which is generally around 10 years.
Hydroflux also purchase existing water and wastewater plants on a similar basis, which releases cash to our clients for either returning or distributing to investors or for funding other investments in their core business.
